The Work in Practice...
Creative Writing
Writing has always been central to my work.
I have published novels and continue to write across forms, from fiction to essays and long-form reflection. My work moves between imaginative storytelling and close attention to lived experience, shaped by years of thinking about culture, responsibility and the systems we inhabit.
I share ongoing essays and musings on Substack, where ideas unfold in real time and conversations continue beyond the page.
I am currently writing a work of narrative non-fiction exploring grief, shaped by personal experience following the loss of my husband last year. Alongside this, I continue to write about sustainability, community, belonging and the complexities of contemporary life.
Whether through fiction, essay or commissioned writing, I am drawn to work that asks difficult questions and resists easy answers.
Keynote Speaking
I speak about the questions that shape how we live.
My talks move between personal experience and public systems, between culture and responsibility, between the stories we inherit and the choices we still have. I am comfortable addressing complexity and holding nuance, without losing clarity.
Drawing on years of work across sustainability, voluntary sector funding and creative practice, alongside lived experience of illness, caregiving and loss, I bring both structure and humanity to the stage.
Audiences can expect thoughtful inquiry rather than easy answers. I do not offer slogans. I offer space to think more carefully, to examine assumptions and to consider what responsibility might look like in practice.
Each keynote is shaped in dialogue with the host organisation and grounded in the context of the event.
